‘Nothing is worse than missing an opportunity that could have changed your life’.
It is Monday 23 October, currently 4:02am and I am sitting in a wheelchair writing my bye-bye to you.
It has been a long time coming since I’ve spent quality, you have my undivided attention type of time with my significant other. Too often at date night I catch myself being engulfed in my phone. Quite frankly, it’s really disappointing.
Disappointing in the sense that “trying to keep up” or “just checking who has viewed my story”, is more important than valuing the physical presence of someone you love.
If you’ve been following me for any lengths of time, you’ll know I post on my social media quite religiously however, let’s be real. You don’t really care and I need to work on not feeding the fuel of wanting to feel important. Remember my last post? Me before you.
With that being said, I am going on a social media hiatus.
No access to my emails, Facebook, Instagram or Snapchat. It’s going to be a real challenge not capturing special moments and uploading them immediately with the #whereyoudratherbe but I’m up for being completely present in the present. Much like the old lady pictured at the beginning of my post.
So it’s time to get my tan on (not that I need more sun), mocktail until my tummy hurts from all the juice (apparently drinking with a recovering knee isn’t ideal, someone say BORING?), breathe in the beautiful Filipino culture, eat all the street food my body can consume and lastly, remember why I love life so much.
PS: I promise it’s not you, it’s me. (Ha ha ha).
